Not to get off the main topic... but I'm admittedly mixed about putting out a list. The moment you do, now I'm not just being judged on the content of my contributions on a network -- now I'm putting myself out there for criticism about who's "on" the list, and who's "not" on the list. That's a potential shift in dynamic I'm not looking forward to. I think the only caveat is that any list I create has to stay evergreen -- to your point "of the moment."

I used to bristle when I'd get an announcement for Qwitter about someone unfollowing me. It took a while to realize that I may have provided value in a time of interest or need, and when that time went by, all I add to someone's feed is noise if they're not needing what I'm offering. The trick in this is to be altruistic, but still do it for yourself, right? That's why I ultimately started putting the list together. If there's value in what I contribute, then maybe there's value to people in getting some context around who I'm paying attention to.

Sorry, I didn't mean to go too meta, but (like usual) you bring up something interesting for me to reflect on.

Just yesterday, I was thinking about the 'microlearning' that emerges from the type of 'microcontent' posted on Twitter. I was comparing it to learning objects. One of the key differentiators between 'microcontent' (as the term is currently used in SOME research) and learning objects (in my opinion) is that microcontent is not always instructional, does not use a standardized external structure, and is created by someone other than the user. I'm not sure how to go about capturing that. While thinking about this I revisited a study (one of the few) about Twitter. The researchers said 'construction of understanding occurs in the smaller hidden networks that exist within the larger online community and network that exist today.' They called this 'networks that matter.' It seems your list is your network that matters (of the moment)and that's a separate thing to measure. Thanks for putting me on your list. I'm humbled.
