Neti Pot
My mom came up this weekend to spend some time with young Brixton and Logan, and she bought me a Neti Pot for my sinuses.
Ever hear of this deal? It’s like a tea kettle that you stick in your nostril and turn your head so that the warm saline solution runs up one nostril and out of another. Which… is pretty gross when warm saltwater is running out your nose and into a bathroom sink. If you’re not conscious of your breathing through your mouth, sometimes this saltwater overflows into your mouth, which is also really gross.
You can read about it on Wikipedia, but apparently if you keep doing this you can stop relying and drugs like Nasonex (for $40 a bottle with a prescription plan) to help keep you nasal passages and sinuses clean. I can’t say for sure how well it’s working since I’ve only been using it for two days in a row, but I can tell you that I still feel like my sinuses are back up, although I definitely can breathe a bit easier.
I don’t know that I can smell or taste better, either. But if you smell like ass, I’ll be sure and let you know if I think you smell assier than normal.

I’ve heard of this and also heard that it works. I, however, have not tried it because I try to keep things out of my nose. Aside from my own fingers.

Evans has the opposite tendency of Davis. Ask that kid.

I imagine Evans has a number of excellent bodily injury anecdotes.
Ugh… sinuses.
I’ve tried Nasonex, Flownase, and Nasarel, but none of them worked as well for me as NasacortAQ. The NasacortAQ had no side effects and only requires a morning does (no second dose in the middle of the day or at night). It only costs $20/bottle (good for about a month) through my Kaiser plan.
Eventually I got a sepotplasty with turbinate reduction and it really really helped me out… my wife says I don’t snore nearly as much as I used to, the dark circles under my eyes lightened up a lot, and my sleep apnea improved a lot, too.
