Starting tomorrow: Exercise Resumes">Starting tomorrow: Exercise Resumes
I think it was exactly a year ago that I had the car accident which stunted my streak of working out three days a week since starting at Grainger. I was on a roll. I got down to 243 lbs from 255 lbs.
And then the accident happened and between losing a car, waiting for surgery, post-op and then life just catching up — I only worked out occasionally over lunch as my schedule might allow.
But that’s changing starting tomorrow. I talked with my boss and I shifted my work schedule from 9am – 6pm now. Yes, this gets me home on a regular basis even later than it used to, but even at 6:30, I’ve been getting home way too late to really eat with the family. Now I’ll get up at the same time I’ve been getting up, but I can take the early train in sweats and work out for a full 90 minutes and shower before work. Additionally, on days I’m not working out, I can (maybe) have breakfast with Logan and Suzy.
And I can go to work while it’s actually daylight, which is a lot more uplifting than going to work and coming home in the dark.

Good luck, man. Winter makes us all lazy on the workout front.

Well, one day in a row and I feel great. I did a half-hour of elliptical, and then a half hour of weights. I’m doing two sets of thirty reps at really light weights — just trying to get a rhythm going of slowly burning the fat away. I’m trying to keep my heartrate to around 130, which is kinda tough because once I’m warmed up I really feel like going for it.
That said, I was feeling a nice burn during my second sets. We’ll see.
