Jesus H. Flippin’ Christ! I’m driving to work today since I had my final post-operartion Doctor’s appointment (still for the finger), and I’m scanning the FM stations in-between the commercials, when I pick up 99.1 WMYX in Milwaukee. Now, I don’t normally listen to “The Mix” and honestly, except for working at the gas station in college when they’d have the cheesy late-night DJ doing the “Love Songs” segment, I would just as soon skip past it if my stereo ever landed on the station.
But they’re playing 24-hours a day, everyday — Christmas music. “Little Drummer Boy” by Neil Diamond came on. WTF???
Call me the Grinch, but it’s friggin’ the FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER!!!! We don’t have any snow on the ground. There are no Christmas sales on yet! People still have Halloween decorations up!
I swear to God if I hear just one song off of “A Very Special Christmas” before it’s friggin’ Christmas, I’m going to put a cap in someone’s ass. I swear.
The ONLY exception to this rule is “Mele Kalikimaka” by Perry Como. Because that song transcends Christmastime. It’s good enough for “Christmas Vacation” which makes it good enough for me.
FYI … the Christmas music season started 11/1….I’m sure it all has to do with the bottom line. Do I understand NO. And, you know I’m a Christmas person, but 11/1 is too early. However, the stores had Christmas ornaments, decorations, displays, etc. up for the last few days. Go Figure……..$$$$$$$$$$

I’m about to go home from work now. I’ll get in the car, and I’m sure I was stupid enough to leave the station on. So I’m going to turn the key, the engine’s going to start and the stereo will be on for maybe a half-second before I can turn it off or change it. I’m playing out the actions in my mind.
But for a half-second, I’m going to probably be exposed to Mannheim Steamroller. I know it. And then I’m going to find someone’s very pretty lawn decorations for Christmas that are already up in the north shore on my way home. And you’ll be loaning Suzy money to bail me out of jail for driving into someone’s lawn and continuously backing over poor little plastic Santa and his sleigh.

mmmmm, you need to channel your passions (?) into something more constructive. I’m not lending Suz money to bail you out….plus you’ll probably get sued for some absolutely ridiculous amount to cover pain, suffering and mental whatever to some family.

You know I have one queued up and ready to go. I’m waiting for Christmas to officially begin — Watch for it to drop on Black Friday. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
